Arise O Compatriots & Ignite an OUTSTANDING OCTOBER!

Nigerian-Independance-Day1
OUTSTANDING OCTOBER:
Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:9).
Patriotism or Fanaticism?
When I was growing up, my father who was a Judge of the Federal High Court, used to embarrass us by making us sing and recite the national anthem and Nigerian pledge every time he came for ‘visiting day‘ at our secondary school (5 of us siblings were in the same school so when we gathered, there was a nation present – LOL). We also did this daily for every single day of our lives until my dad passed or when we got married.  I have developed a love for my country that can’t be shaken no matter how tough things get or what CNN reports. Am I being patriotic or fanatical? Call it what you will but my dad, the Honourable Justice Francis Okafor Kachikwu, died believing in a great Nigeria and so will I. I hope however to see it great again.

So today, I would like to say -”Happy Independence” to my Nigerian readers all over the world. There’s never been a more exciting time to be Nigerian. This is our time to rise and be counted. We, (every one of us that can be identified as Nigerian) carry a special solution to the country’s problems/challenges and can turn them to opportunities. May we see ourselves as responsible citizens able to contribute and not tear down what little we have managed to build. May we speak only good and expect only good of our nation by being good and worthy citizens ourselves. May we raise children that are worthy and proud ambassadors with solutions to their own generation’s issues. May we all arise O’ Compatriots!
Read the rest of the pledge here. And the anthem hereLet’s be proud of our country. (It doesn’t matter if you hold multiple passports.)
Igniting an OUTSTANDING OCTOBER.
I have no doubt that irrespective of what September brought, October and the rest of the year will be even more outstanding. I’m someone who is clearly only able to see the good in situations. While understanding that facts are relevant, I’ve come to learn and experience that “what the heart can see is more important and real than what physical eyes can see“. If you can relate to this, please join me on what I truly believe will be a month that is nothing short of Outstanding. It’s my birth month after all, so it has no choice but to line up. Here are a few “Thoughts and Promises” to reflect on for October.

O – OUTLINE YOUR EXPECTATIONS. STATE CLEARLY WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE HAPPEN THIS MONTH & THE REST OF THIS YEAR. Review your goals and get rid of all old goals, decisions, and situations that don’t serve you or energise you.
C – COMMITMENT AND CONFIDENCE GO NICELY TOGETHER. COMMIT TO YOUR HIGHEST DESIRES. THEN CONFIDENTLY STEP INTO THE MONTH.
T – TAKE ACTION like never before. ACTION IS THE MAGICAL BULLET. Make your actions congruent with your expectations. TALK THE TALK. WALK THE WALK
O – OPPORTUNITIES WILL OPEN UP IN STRANGE PLACES …Look for them daily.
B – BOLD FAITH WILL BE RELEASED. EMBRACE IT. BREAK THROUGH ALL BARRIERS OF FEAR. EXPECT ONLY OUTSTANDING OUTCOMES.
E – ENCOURAGE, EMPOWER & ENERGISE YOURSELF BY RECOUNTING YOUR DAILY AND PAST VICTORIES CONSTANTLY.
R – REMEMBER TO GIVE THANKS. DO IT DAILY. GRATITUDE IS LIKE MAGIC. Start today.
We will continue with details of how to achieve an outstanding month in the next edition. In the meantime, continue to take active, diligent steps towards you highest dreams. You deserve them and if you can conceive them, see them clearly in your heart, and keep moving towards them with diligent committed action, they will surely happen. I am personally on my way to my biggest dreams and I wish the same for you.
To your success. Stay Ignited. Outstanding.
