After The Twitter Chat I wanted to find out more about S6StartUp and it's founders.
Chaste Christopher Inegbedion, Founder of Modern Social Good Business, is establishing the first business of social good on the cloud and he is obsessed with tracking every other startup in the world and applying them locally to improve the Small & Growing Business Sector with a sworn mission for startup to ‘make more money and more impact’.
After successfully completing their Microsoft Cloud startup Academy, Chaste Christopher Inegbedion and Bukola Adeboye Joined forces with Ayodele Ayowole-obi as co-producers to help identify prospective startups to share their untold stories tagged S6startup!
Also an on- and offline tech-themed resource for startups, S6startUP is redefining the role of cloud-socioprenurship in the 21st century by basing its business on three core principles: creating buyer and shareholder value, playing a key role in social and economic development, and contributing to society's satisfaction.
Read this short interview below:
What problem are you trying to solve?
Nigeria is a very diverse region and Startups in this region have particular challenges and opportunities.
One of the biggest challenges we see – and this is a problem across the developing world — is the extreme difficulty for even the best entrepreneurs to access the networks and investors they need to grow. There is virtually no early stage financing so if you have an innovative idea that requires upfront capital, it’s tough to find the right investors. Even if you do find capital, there are challenges finding great management talent and in general too many would-be entrepreneurs are on the sidelines, too afraid to take risks or with too limited views of what they could actually accomplish.
The good news is the region has a lot going for it from natural resources. Most importantly, there is great human capital in the region – incredible entrepreneurs who have bold visions for how to build businesses that solve key problems facing the region; our job is to find & work with them.
S6startup Agency is an online platform and business to business marketplace entirely focused on sustainable innovation. By leveraging the power of the Internet they are in the front-line of propelling eco-friendly enterprises (low carbon footprint taking into account) by creating an environment where ideas and opportunities can be exchanged, we hope to accelerate innovation and bridge the gap between industry and experts by creating an alternative platform for collaboration and knowledge transfer. S6startup is to facilitate the interaction of talented individuals and experts worldwide by providing them with challenging projects to work on. This work supports also six other brand packages to be unveiled intermittently. We get in-depth with the Founders and inquire about their business models to see how these startups plan to thrive in today’s competitive environment and build value, whether through their CSR Agenda, or in spite of it.
What social and economic impact do you expect S6STARTUP will have in the long run?
“In the long run, we want to be the sustainable foundation for economic and social development in the Startup ecosystem. S6startup will not only redefine impact investment, but also enhance communication, socializing, and entrepreneurship using cloud computing.”
What are the specific qualities of your team?
“We have a very diverse team with a variety of previous international experiences, from the technical to the business side, whether it is in Africa, Europe, or America. What brings us all together is the sense of purpose we feel with the S6startup project, from the top leadership to our subsidiaries in Africa. Each team member has a specific skill set which is crucial to the success of the project.”
We hope to demonstrate by running the first cloud based socially responsible business in Nigeria is possible and rewarding. We would like to set an example for young entrepreneurs and encourage them to keep social impact at the forefront of their minds
