The Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation is proud to highlight a most generous grant given to us by the Tony Elumelu Foundation to further the work of the OOF Youth Employment and Empowerment Initiative. Mr. Elumelu has been a supporter of the OOF since our launch and are happy to utilize this grant to further the shared objectives of building African enterprise and developing Africapitalism. Mr. Elumelu participated in the OOF Youth Initiatives side meeting at CGI (Clinton Global Initiative) 2013 “Creating Jobs for Youth in Africa by Catalysing Private Investment” and was an instrumental sponsor via the TEF in assisting the Foundation in executing our Youth events in Addis Ababa in January 2014.
Equipping African youth with the skills and training to allow them to create their own businesses and thrive in employment is most important in fostering development and creating a competitive business environment to boost the Private sector and in turn local and regional African economies. Creating more African leaders like H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo and Tony Elumelu is dependant on investment and dedicated mentoring of the next generation.
This generous grant from the Tony Elumelu Foundation is one aspect of the big picture of Advancing Human Security in Africa and the OOF Youth Initiative will be using it to inspire, impact and empower African Youth.
The OOF would like to humbly thank Tony Elumelu and the TEF for their continued support for the Foundation and look forward to working together with the Tony Elumelu Foundation in empowering African Youth.
