FELLOW OF THE MONTH
MOHAMED SALIA FROM SIERRA LEONE

Meet Mohamed who is tackling the negative effects of civil war and exploitation by mining companies. In light of the recent developments Mohamed's venture SEED is currently shifting its activities to raising awareness of the Ebola virus in Bonthe district to help curtail the fast-paced spread of the disease.

SEED-Sierra Leone is an organization providing microloans and business skills training in loan management and bookkeeping to the people in the region. Mohamed aims at expanding his reach to allow more rural people to start small businesses. In addition, SEED will provide a human rights and land negotiation training to enable community members to combat the claims and activities of mining companies that cause land loss and environmental destruction.
