A
country aspiring to make headway and scale the hurdles of the 21st century will
be a country which is ready to invest in her youths, since it is a known fact
that they possess more strength than the older citizens to run around, cross
every T and dot every I in whatever fashion they so desire.
Even in the holy scripture, it clearly says “the glory of the
youths is their strength”. According to Franz Kafka who says “Youth is happy because it has the
capacity to see beauty. Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows
old.”
The social welfare of the youths must not be toyed with or handled
with kid gloves, in order for the needed and necessary apparatuses to be firmly
in place for accurate equipment.
In the fore front of everything youth and education development with
capacity building in Nigeria is the Social Enterpise called RISE NETWORKS. The
organisation is richly known for its crusading activities in terms of
empowering Nigerian youths with its RISE NATIONAL YOUTH FORUM which for many
years has gained myriad of rave reviews home and abroad, with huge support both
majorly from the private sectors in Nigeria, the forum which has been taken
round the six geo-political zones, has luxuriously recorded the presence of
eminent Nigerians who are bigwigs in the political sphere, business arena and
social motivators as speakers to enlighten youths and illuminate their eyes and
minds to the obscure and negligible but paramount to overall development of the
Nigerian youth of which leadership and having sense of belonging are a compact
aspect of the movement.
But this time around, RISE NETWORKS seems to be taking more than a
step further in terms of its vested interested in Nigerian youths, joining the
rest of the world to commemorate the United Nations International Youth Day
2014. The International Youth Day which comes up every 12th of August, did not
fail to come this year. But the Nigerian version to be hosted by RISE NETWORKS
will come up on 27th August, 2014 at the University of Lagos, Main Auditorium,
scheduled to kick off by 10 am.
The event which has been described by some as the mother of youth
