Capitalizing on Competencies: Partnering to Eliminate Malaria and Accelerate Impact on Maternal and Child Health

The 2014 GBCHealth/Corporate Alliance on Malaria in Africa Annual Technical Forum

On July 2, 2014, the Corporate Alliance on Malaria in Africa (CAMA), in partnership with Access Bank, Friends of the Global Fund Africa, GBCHealth and the Nigerian Ministry of Health, will convene a private sector-targeted workshop to explore the integration of malaria and maternal and child health (MCH) programs to provide a coordinated push to drive impact and achieve the MDGs. The workshop will also look at the improvement of vector control measures, with a focus on Africa. The event will cover:
  • Malaria control in support of maternal and child health goals
  • Vector control and resistance issues
  • Increasing investments in malaria control and elimination
  • Building on private sector successes
  • Malaria diagnosis and treatment
Taking place in Abuja, Nigeria, this invitation-only technical workshop will bring together leaders from government, the private sector, multilateral agencies, NGOs and academia to connect, share best practices and commit increased attention and resources to accelerating malaria control and elimination. The event is expected to result in increased corporate commitment to malaria control and a strengthened network of stakeholders working towards the common goals of reducing malaria prevalence, improving maternal and child health and strengthening overall health systems in Africa.
